Baptist Women’s Retreat

Several representatives from the Columbia Metro Association of the South Carolina Baptist Convention recently attended a Baptist Women’s Retreat at Anderson College.

Among them were Mrs. Leo F. Hall. Mrs. Horace T. Jacobs, Mrs. Maurice G. Powell, Mrs. Lucious Russell Rawls, Sr., Mytris Mungo, Jeannette Busby, Ruth Pierce, Sara Ellis, Ruth Provence from Columbia First Baptist Church, Nancy Terry from Shandon Baptist Church, Barbara Smith, Ann Pleiffer, Inez Young, and Betty Stone from Spring Valley Baptist Church.

The theme of the retreat was “Today’s Woman in God’s Service.”

Among the guest speakers were Mrs. Jimmye Winter, national Baptist Woman consultant from Birmingham, Ala., Dr. Robert Mills, assistant director of the Mission Service Corps with the Home Mission Board, Mrs. Sam James, Missionary to Vietnam and the Rev. Earl Vaughn of the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
