Mrs. Christine Hornbsy Rose, 68, widow of Walter English Rose, died Wednesday, September 5, 1984.
Born on August 25, 1916, in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late William Hornsby and Dora Jackson Hornsby. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and the Hope Sunday School Class.
Surviving are Daughters, Mrs. Jean Jeffers, Mrs. Vera Nelson, Miss Iris Rose and Mrs. Carolyn Branham of Elgin, Mrs. Emma D Mikesch of Fenton, Mo., Mrs. Betty Timmerberg of Belgium and Mrs. Doris Thomas of Atlanta. Sons, Arlin D. Rose, and Jerry E. Rose, Robert W. Rose And Coley E Rose of Elgin and Jimmy H Rose of North Augusta, sister, Mrs. Vermaelle Black of Chester and Mrs. Faye Hook and Mrs. Gladys Oney of Columbia; brothers, Ream Hornby of Lynchburg, Amos Hornsby of Elgin and William Hornsby Jr. of Columbia; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church, Elgin.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or union Baptist Church Building Fund.
