William Motley Cook was born April 21, 1896 in Blaney, the son of William Harvey Cook and Mary Etta Ross Cook.

1985

William Motley Cook, 89, of 2819 Burney Drive, died Thursday, September 19, 1985.

Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late William Harvey Cook and Mary Etta Ross Cook.

A retired machinist with Southern Railroad, Mr. Cook was a lifetime member of the International Association of Machinists and Aero-Space Workers. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel Windham Cook; a daughter, Margaret C. Swartz of Columbia; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W. Lloyd Hellams. Burial will be in the Cresent Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Plans will be announced by the funeral home.
