According to the United States Census reported on April 15, 1910, John Daulkings (49) rented a farm in Kershaw County, South Carolina. His wife of 24 years, Carrie Daulkings (47), reported that she bore 9 children 7 of whom survived. Their children still in the home were; Lizzie Daulkings (18), Rhoda Daulkings (16), Bulah Daulkings (13), Perl Daulkings (9), Larnie Daulkings (6), Arther Daulkings (1). It was reported that all family members were born in South Carolina; John Daulkings was a farmer, Lizzie Daulkings, Rhoda Daulkings and Bulah Daulkings were all laborers on the farm.
1920 Census Information:
According to the United States Census reported on January 22, 1920, Carrie Dawkins (49) rented a home in Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina. In the home where her children; Pearl Dawkins (18), Lonnie Dawkins (16), and Arthur Dawkins (11), her son-in-law, William Smith (39), her daughter; Minnie Smith (32), and boarders; Ola Roberts (27) and Joe H Roberts (26). It was reported that all household members were born in South Carolina; Carrie kept her house, Pearl was a spinner at the cotton mill, Lonnie worked with dowels in the cotton mill, William was a worker at Garage Company City, Ola was a spinner at the cotton mill, Joe H worked with dowels in the cotton mill.

Mrs. Pearl Dawkins Cooper, 86, of Rikard Nursing Home, Lexington, widow of Raymond Cooper, died Monday, November 2, 1987.
Born in Blaney, she was a daughter of the late John Dawkins and Carrie Abbott Dawkins. She was a retired employee of Mount Vernon Mills and a member of Denny Terrace Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Bible Class.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. John Harris (Minnie Mae Harris) and Mrs. William Allison (Gaynell Allison) of Columbia and Mrs. John Risher (Rosell Risher) of Goose Creek; a son, Louie Lee Cooper of West Columbia; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home and be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. John Harris, 6329 Noble Ave., West Columbia.
Memorials may be made to Denny Terrace Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Denny Terrace Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Paul M. Smith and the Rev. Howard S. Price. Burial will be lin Lybrand Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John D. Harris Jr., Robert E. Allison, John H. Risher, Louie Lee Cooper Jr., Bobby Dawkins and Tony Lee Rice.
Memorials may be made to Denny Terrace Baptist Church.
The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Harris, 6329 Noble Ave., and will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home of Columbia.
