The 12th annual Elgin Catfish Stomp is scheduled for Saturday in the community of Elgin. A full day of family styled entertainment begins at 10 a.m. with an 80-unit parade featuring from Elgin area churches. The catfish stew gets underway at 11:30 AM in the old Blaney School Cafeteria. Fried chicken plates will also be available. Other attractions will include some 50 arts and crafts booths, plus a carnival for children. The closing event will be a 7 PM basketball game in the Blaney Gym An old fashioned gospel sing will be held at 3 PM Sunday Proceeds will be used for local community projects.
