Michael Laverne Moore was born February 23, 1950 in Richland County, a son of Horace Laverne Moore and Mrs. Mary Lee Ellen Oswalt Moore.

Michael Laverne Moore, 38, died Sunday, July 31, 1988.

Born in Richland County, he was a son of Horace L. Moore and Mrs. Mary Oswalt Moore. He was a retired employee of DuPont and the owner of Moore’s Landscaping. He was a member and deacon of Blaney Baptist Church and active in the 125th Engineering Battalion of the South Carolina National Guard.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Martha Kelly Moore; a daughter Miss Kelly G. Moore of the home; his parents of Ridgeway; a brother, Darryl E. Moore of Ridgeway; and sisters, Mrs. Leon Baker (Patricia Moore Baker), Mrs. Wallace Peake (Gloria Marlene Peake), Mrs. Ricky Carraway (Donna Moore Carraway) and Mrs. Keith Willoughbey (Robin Moore Willoughbey), all of Lugoff.

Services will be held at 4 p. m. today at Blaney Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Blaney Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Baptist Medical Center Outpatient Chemotherapy Department.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel is in charge.
