ELGIN – Service for James Boykin Goff, 83, of 255 Seven Miles Road will be held at 3 p.m. today at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. Memorials may be made to the church. Talbert-Shives Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Goff died Wednesday, March 11, 1992. Born in Blaney, he was a son of the late John David Goff and Nannie Ross Goff. He was a farmer and retired carpenter from Fort Jackson. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was a former Sunday school superintendent and teacher and a deacon.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha Nelson Goff; sons, Andrew “A. D.” Goff and Clinton Goff, both of Elgin; brothers, Thurston Goff and Otis Goff, both of Elgin; sisters, Eva Outlaw and Iola Campbell, both of Columbia; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
