Blaney Baptist Church of Elgin has called Sharon Painter Thompson as part-time music director. A native of Tryon, N. C., she received a bachelor of arts degree from Limestone College and a master’s degree in music from the University of South Carolina. She is married to David Thompson, and they have two children. They live in Forest Acres.
