ELGIN – Tammy Loraine Evans of Elgin and Porter Harrison Bridges of Columbia were married July 10 at Blaney Baptist Church. The 2 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bill Drees and was followed by a reception at the church.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and MRs. W. J. Watford of Elgin, earned a degree in elementary education from Midlands Technical College. She is a preschool teacher at Hudson Daycare.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bridges of Columbia, is a graduate of Keenan High School. He is a transmitter operator at WLTX in Columbia.

The couple will reside in Columbia.
