ELGIN – Services for Curtis E. Brown, 72, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2001 at the Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. George Cashwell and Bob Midgette will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 this evening, July 7, 2001 in the Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2290 Heath Pond Road, Elgin, SC 29045.
Mr. Brown died Thursday, July 5, 2001 after a long illness. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Leslie P. Brown and Lillian Watts Brown. He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was a member of the “Keenagers” and the Men’s Ministry. He was an Associate at the Two-Notch Road Wal-Mart, Columbia.
Surviving are wife, Grace Long Brown; daughter, Robin E. Brown of Barnwell; son, Victor T. Brown of Charlotte; grandchildren, Sharon E. McCartha, Victor T. Brown Jr., and Mandy Mimms Brown; one great-grandson, Dalton McCartha; sisters, Elise McLeod of Lugoff; Ophelia Long of Camden; brother, Maxcy P. Brown of Jenkinsville; half sister, Madge Hammonds of Columbia; half brother, Rudolph Bradley of Aiken.
He was predeceased by brothers, Leslie Brown, Thomas Brown and Lester Brown.
