Obituary of Allen Knox

LAKE WATEREE – Services for Major Allen Nelson Knox, U.S. Army (Ret.), 63, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden chapel. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2002 at the funeral home.

Mr. Knox died Wednesday, April 23, 2002. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Edward and Viola Marquart Knox. A graduate of Rensselear Polytechnic Institute and post-graduate of SUNNY University in Albany, N.Y., he had served 20 years in the U.S. Army. He was a decorated veteran who served two tours in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, he taught Jr. ROTC at Hartsville High School for 15 years. He also co-owned Travel Agents International Vacation Store in Columbia with his wife and son.

Surviving are wife, Elizabeth Baldwin Knox; daughter, Janet Knox of Columbia; son, Garrett Knox of Lugoff; granddaughters, Randi and Lydia Knox.
