LUGOFF – Services for Otto Morris Jacobs, 80, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Spears Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. C. Alvin Fleming officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at Shives Funeral Home.
Mr. Jacobs died May 19, 2002. Born in Pontiac, he was a son of the late Evetta Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was the owner of the Pontiac Restaurant from 1952 until 1978.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Gladys Peake Jacobs; sons and daughters-in-law, Toby Jacobs (Aletha) of Hopkins, Rick (Charlie) Jacobs of Irmo, Chris (Alicia) Jacobs of Lugoff; daughters and son-in-law, Faye Hornsby, Linda (Ernie) Gilbert, and Marsene Jacobs, all of Lugoff; sisters, Earline LeGrand of Elgin, Annette Barton of Columbia; grandchildren, Buffi, Rick Jr., Crystal, Kristen, Justin, Mitchell, Dale, Tracy, Kim, and Melinda; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Scottie, Stephanie, and Ashlenn.
