Marlene Hunley
ELGIN – Services for Marlene Cook Hunley, 55, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Columbia, with burial in Springvale Baptist Church Cemetery, 1496 Springvale Road, Lugoff. Officiating will be the Rev. Bobby Chavis and the Rev. Minnie Hurst. The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Ms. Hunley died Saturday, March 15, 2003. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Talley Cook and Lenora Jeffers Cook. She was a 1967 graduate of Blaney High School and a lifelong member of Springvale Baptist Church. Ms. Hunley was formerly employed as bookkeeper with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and MSI Construction.
Surviving are her sons, Mark A. Hunley of Elgin and Sgt. David F. Hunley, U.S.M.C., Marine Corps Base, Hawaii, and his wife, Sonya L. Hunley; daughter, Michielle A. Cary and her husband, Ronald L. Cary, of Elgin; brothers, Richard E. Cook of Elgin, Laverne Cook of Hopkins, John Cook of Columbia, Harold Cook of Raleigh, N.C. and Paul Cook of Arkansas; sisters, Doris Stockman of Elgin, Mary Roush of Hopkins and Ann Cook of Elgin; grandchildren, Emily B. Hunley Humphries, Nicole L. Hunley Humphries, Savannah M. Cary, Sonya M. Cary, David A. Hunley and Kalea L. Hunley, expected in June.
