Kittie Davis
COLUMBIA – Homegoing Service for Kittie Mae “Mama Kid” Burns Davis, of Columbia, will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Fort Clark Baptist Church in Elgin with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mother Davis will be placed in the church at noon on Monday.
Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home has been entrusted with these services.
Mrs. Davis died peacefully, Thursday, May 20, 2005, surrounded by her family. Born in Blaney, S.C., she was the beloved daughter of the late Charlie Burns and Mammie Jones Burns, and the widow of Lankford Davis.
Kittie was a retired employee of Richland School District I, where she was worked at Fairwald Elementary School. Mother Davis was a long-time, active member of Fort Clark Baptist Church in Elgin.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Marian Qualls; and two sisters, Lueal Hardy and Charlesina Kelly.
Surviving are her loving son, Willie Davis, and loving daughter, Thomasina Davis; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Rebecca Coleman, Nora B. White and Rosa Lee Pollard.
