District sets monthly Child Find clinics

The Kershaw County School District will hold Child Find screening clinics – free vision, hearing, speech, language and developmental screenings for children ages 3-5 – each month through April.

The purpose is to help parents and the district identify early any special needs children may have and match available services to assist children with those needs.

The clinics will be held at different locations on the second Thursday of each month.

Dates and locations already scheduled include Sept. 7 at Doby’s Mill Elementary, Oct. 12 at Pine Tree Hill Elementary, Nov. 9 at Midway Elementary, Dec. 7 at Blaney Elementary, Jan. 11 at Camden Elementary, Feb. 8 at Bethune Elementary, March 8 at Wateree Elementary and April 5 at Jackson School.

Parents from any area of the county can bring their children for these free screenings from 9-11 a.m. by appointment only. Interested parents should contact Cynthia Rennick at (803) 425-8925 to schedule an appointment.

Camden High reunion now set for Nov. 18

Camden High School has changed the date for its 1986 Class Reunion to Nov. 18, in hopes of having more participation.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Ten-Eleven Galleria, 1011 Broad St. The evening will include drinks and hors doeuvres as well as live music.

Deadline to sign up is Sept. 29.
