ELGIN – Funeral service for Edith Challis Erickson, 63, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Avenue South, 17th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10016-8804.
Mrs. Erickson died Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Born in Dry Branch, W.V., she was the daughter of the late Fred James Challis and Ruth Ann Holstein Challis. She was a graduate of the University of Charleston, Charleston, W.V. She attended Salem United Methodist Church and enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading and home decorating.
Surviving are her husband, John Erickson, Sr.; son, John Erickson, Jr.; sisters, Ruth “Blue-Eyes” Petry, and Sandra Kay Wu; brother, James Patrick Challis; and many nieces and nephews.
