ELGIN – Funeral service for Edith Challis Erickson, 63, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mrs. Erickson died Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Born in Dry Branch, W.V., she was the daughter of the late Fred James Challis and Ruth Ann Holstein Challis. She was a graduate of the University of Charleston, Charleston, W.V. She attended Salem United Methodist Church and enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading and home decorating.

Surviving are her husband, John Erickson, Sr.; son, John Erickson, Jr.; sisters, Ruth “Blue-Eyes” Petry, and Sandra Kay Wu; brother, James Patrick Challis; and many nieces and nephews.
