Obituary

Funeral services for Donnie Rabon Horton, 72, will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Horton died Friday evening, September 17, in Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Sam Horton and Maggie Gardner Horton. He retired twice, once from the Kendall Co., Bethune and later Springs Industries, Lancaster. Mr. Horton was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class and served as an usher and teller. He also served our country in the US Army. Mr. Horton enjoyed the time he spent golfing and fishing.

Surviving are his wife; Helen S. Horton of the home, 2 sons; Timothy R. Tim Horton and his wife Angela of Rock Hill, Gregory C. Greg Horton and his wife Beth of Mount Pleasant, a granddaughter; Lindsey Chandler Horton of Easley,2 grandsons; Daren Nicholas Adkins and Brandon Ray Adkins of Rock Hill, a brother; Bobby Horton of Kershaw, 2 sisters; Margie Johnson and Jessie Mae Thompson both of Jefferson.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, September 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church,Building Fund, 2140 McBee Highway, Jefferson, S.C. 29718.
