WEST COLUMBIA – A funeral service for Mrs. Lois Crumpton Daniels, 85, of West Columbia, who passed away on November 19, 2010, will be held at 1:30 o’clock, Monday, November 22, 2010 at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC with The Rev. Joe Copeland and Rev. Stuart Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:30. Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.

Lois Crumpton Daniels was born December 18, 1924 in Blaney, SC to John J. Crumpton and Mattie Atkerson Crumpton. She graduated from Blythewood High School. After graduation she attended Columbia Bible College and later graduated from Draughn’s Business College. She was employed for many years at Belk’s Department store in the audit department and later retired from the SC Employment Security Commission as an accountant. Mrs. Daniels was a former member of Smyrna UMC where she taught Sunday school. After her marriage to Eugene Daniels, she became a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday school and sang in the senior choir. Her greatest joy was traveling to the Holy Land and many other places.

Mrs. Daniels is survived by her brother, Alfred Crumpton (Martha Crumpton) of Elgin; sisters, Cleo C. (John W.) Daugherty of Lexington, and Christine Wiedemann of Columbia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Daniels; two brothers, Julian Crumpton and Samuel Leroy Crumpton.
