ELGIN – A funeral service to celebrate the life of Clara Branham, 86, of Elgin, will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at Blaney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Philip Blankenship will officiate. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Branham’s memory to the Arthritis Foundation-Carolinas Chapter, 200 East Woodlawn Road, Suite 156, Charlotte, NC 28217.

Mrs. Branham, widow of Brooks T. Branham, died Sunday, March 20, 2011. Born in Blythewood, she was a daughter of the late James Allen Branham and Mary Abbott Branham. She had retired from the Stone Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Branham was a member of Blaney Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are a sister, Irene Stockman of Tookedoo; brother, Grady B. Branham of Columbia, a special sister-in-law, Juanita Branham of Elgin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers, Caldwell Branham, Clyburn Branham, Collie Branham, Claude Branham, George Branham, Belvin Branham, Norman Branham; and two sisters, Elmer Goff and Melvina Stockman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on hall 300 at Springdale Healthcare for their love and devotion shown to Mrs. Branham.
