ELGIN – A funeral service for Eugene David Kelly, 92, widower of Jeanne Cassidy Kelly, will be held at 11 o’clock, Friday, August 19, 2011, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC, 29203, with The Rev. Ron Avant officiating. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Killian Baptist Church, 503 Killian Rd., Columbia, SC 29203.
Mr. Kelly died on August 14, 2011. Born in Blaney, SC, he was a son of the late Morgan Kelly and Aquilla Brown Kelly. He was a member of Killian Baptist Church, where he served as President of the Men’s Bible Class and was a deacon. Mr. Kelly was an Army veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his son, Stephen David and wife, Lucinda Kelly of Elgin. In addition to his parents,
Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his two brothers and four sisters.
