ELGIN – A graveside service for Janette Cogdell Quinn, 81, of Elgin, SC, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Blaney Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Philip Blankenship, Rev. Ron Gregory, and Dennis Ray, Mrs. Quinn’s grandson, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made in Janette’s memory to Blaney Baptist Church.1400 Blaney Road, Elgin, SC 29045.

Mrs. Quinn, widow of Melvin Joseph Quinn, died Monday, August 13, 2012. The daughter of the late Ellen Young Cogdell and Steve Burnett Cogdell, she was born in Union, SC. Mrs. Quinn was a homemaker and a former Sunday School teacher at Blaney Baptist Church .

Mrs. Quinn is survived by daughters, Connie Ray (Keith) of Lugoff, Nan Sherrill (Archie) of Lugoff, and Margaret Quinn, of Denver, CO; son-in-law, Haskell Rish; six grandchildren, Kimberly Marie Taylor, Dennis Keith Ray (Amber), Matthew Kevin Ray (Mallory), Scarlett Ray Starnes (Joseph), Meagan Quinn Sherrill, and Erin Ruth Sherrill; five great-grandchildren, Dakota, Wyatt, Charlie, Ansley, and Jackson; sisters, Helen Griffie, of Gastonia, NC, and Connie Peake, of Lake Wateree, SC.

She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Melvin Joseph Quinn; daughter, Annette Marie Rish; brothers, Herman Cogdell, Steve Cogdell and Ernest Cogdell and brother-in-laws, Frank Griffie and Langford Peake.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
