It was reported at all family members were born in South Carolina and lived in the same house on April 1, 1935. Carroll Rodney Bowen was a lumber manufacture, Grace Harmon Bowen kept house, Grace Carolyn Bowen attended school, adopted sons, James Alvin Kelley and Samuel Walter Kelley were Labors for the Lumber industry.

ELGIN – Funeral service for Carolyn Bowen Peake, 84, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Smyrna United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Smyrna UMC, PO Box 66, Elgin S.C. 29045.
Mrs. Peake, wife of the late Jimmy Peake, passed away on Thursday, January 07, 2016. Born in Blaney, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Rodney Bowen and Grace Harmon Bowen. She received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College and retired as a school teacher.
Surviving are her children, Jim Peake of Elgin, Gwen Henderson (Don) of Blythewood, and Billy Peake (Cheri) of Elgin; and granddaughter, Holly Henderson.
She was predeceased by step brothers, Alvin Kelly and Buck Kelly.
