Obituary of Raymond Jackson
LUGOFF – Funeral services for Raymond Smith Jackson, 91, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Smyrna United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tim Burleson will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smyrna United Methodist Church, or Main St. United Methodist Church, Columbia.
Mr. Jackson passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Samuel I Jackson and Ruth Smith Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church, the NARFE, and was a Shriner as well as a York Rite Mason. He loved his church, enjoyed music, farming, and working with his hands.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Charlotte Pool Jackson; brothers, John L. Jackson (Leola), Roy E. Jackson (Rachael); a sister, Mary Helen Bedenbaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Gossett Duval, Rachael Porth, Marjorie Hulsey Brown; and a brother, Samuel Lawrence Jackson.
