LUGOFF – Funeral service for Dallas “Pete” Rabon, Sr., 87, will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Harvest Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden. The Rev. Bill Dulaney will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014 or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Dallas Rabon, 225 N. Michigan Ave, FL17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Mr. Rabon passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 in Florence, S.C. Born on November 5, 1929 in Blaney, S.C., he was the son of the late George Tillman Rabon and Annie Ray Rabon. He served in the National Guard and retired from DuPont and co-owned Brothers Lawn Service with his late brother, Otis Rabon. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Lugoff and attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Florence.
Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Judy Lane Rabon; children, Dallas “Ricky” Rabon (Juanita Foster), Angela “Ann” Posey and Terri Carraway (Tim); step-children, Lee Lane (Tiletha) and Jody Lane (Lisa); sisters, Elise Hancock, Lillian Barwick and Vivian Atkinson; grandchildren, Nikki Thompson (Dustin), Josh Carraway (Mariah), Amber Rabon, Erika Hutzler (Drew), Justin Carraway (Ally Turner) and Kayla Carraway; step-grandchildren, Preston Lane, Whitney Lane and Adam Lane; great-grandchildren, Sydney Thompson and Lily Carraway; and caregiver, Margaret Simpson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty Rabon; son, Larry Lavern Rabon; brothers, George Rabon, Claude Rabon and Otis Rabon; and sisters, Margaret Cook and Eloise Browne.
