According to the United State census recorded on May 9, 1930, Walter S Rose (63), owned a home in Wateree, Kershaw, South Carolina with his wife; Elizabeth Rose (63), his son, Stanley N Rose (26), his daughter, Elise G Rose (22), his daughter-in-law, Josephine T Rose (19) and his granddaughter, Gladys J Rose (1). It was reported the family members were all born in South Carolina. Walter S. Rose and Stanley Rose were farmers on a general farm.

1940 Census Information:

According to the United State census recorded on May 12, 1940, Stanley Norman Rose (36), owned a home on U.S. Highway No. 1, in Blaney, Kershaw, South Carolina, with his wife Josephine Thornton Rose (29) and their children, Gladys June Rose (11), and Gerald Stanley Rose (9 months), and his father Samuel Walter Rose (73). It was reported the family members were all born in South Carolina and lived in the same house on April 1, 1935. Stanley Norman Rose was employees as a truck driver for a lumber mill, Josephine Thornton Rose kept house, Gladys June Rose was a student, Gerald Stanley Rose was to young to attend school, and Samuel Walter Rose was a farmer.

On December 19, 1970, Mrs. J. H. Pritchard was listed as a living daughter in the obituary of Stanley N. Rose.

2018

June Rose Pritchard, widow of Joseph Herman Pritchard, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born January 22, 1930, in Elgin, SC, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Norman Rose and the late Josephine Thornton Rose. She was a graduate of Camden High School and retired as Assistant Chief Operator from Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph in Sumter. She was a long standing member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also retired from Farmers Telephone Cooperative in Sumter. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Jim White (Nancy); a daughter, Marsha White Boykin (Fraser); a brother, Stan Rose (Sharon) of Rock Hill; a grandson, Donald Stamey (Sonja); a granddaughter, Tisha White Moses (Perry); a great-grandson, Russell Moore; a great-granddaughter, Ally Moses, a bonus great-grandson, Craig Nesbit (Dawn); and bonus great-great-granddaughters, Ansley Grace Nesbit, Kayla McCutchin, and Caroline McCutchin; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lane Rose Ballard; and a granddaughter, Kimberley Stamey.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Eugene Mosier officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of National Health Care of Sumter for the care they provided their loved one for the last several years. The family would also like to thank her primary caregivers at National Health Care, Kay Billips and Burnette McFadden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Concord Baptist Church, 1885 Myrtle Beach Hwy., Sumter, SC 29153.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
