CAMDEN – A funeral service for Barbara Joan Gates, 79, will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 -8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camden First Church of the Nazarene or KershawHealth Hospice.

Mrs. Gates passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born on February 24, 1939 in Valpariso, IN, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Wayne Webb and Vera Mae Hazlett Webb. Barbara was a member of St. Matthews Methodist Church, Bishopville. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving is her husband, Johnnie Gates; children, Michael J. Stewart (Andrea), David W. Stewart, Joanne C. Galloway (Donovan) and Terri B. Cotton (Bert); 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brother, John Wayne Webb; sister, Pamela Sue McConnell (Larry); sister-in-law, Jean Webb. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Eugene Webb; sister-in-law, Bunnie Webb.
