Obituary of Jaden Phillips
ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of Jaden Corwin-Ray Phillips, 19, will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Blythewood Presbyterian Church, 441 Rimer Pond Road, Blythewood. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The family invites you to come as you are. Memorials may be made to the Jaden Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund for Lugoff-Elgin High School (checks made to Jaden Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Dan Golovan 2465 SOM Center Rd, Hunting Valley, Ohio 44022) or Prisma Health Midlands Foundation – Trauma Fund.
Jaden passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Ronald Shayne and Sabria Dawn Phillips. He was a 2019 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High where he played football and was a member of the BETA Club. He was a student at Anderson University where he was majoring in mechanical engineering. Jaden was an avid duck hunter and fisher and loved being outdoors.
Surviving are his parents, Shayne and Sabria Phillips of Elgin; sister, Jorden Faith Phillips of Elgin; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Linda Phillips; maternal grandparents, Leary and Belinda Cox; maternal great-grandmother, Pat W. Cox; 3 aunts; 2 uncles; and numerous cousins and extended family.
Jaden is deeply loved and will be greatly missed!
