Obituary of Glenda Vivian Cerezo

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Glenda Vivian Cerezo, 76, will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cerezo passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020. Born in Rockingham, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Archie Monroe Gainey and Willie Mae Whitlock Gainey. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Republican Party where she was a former Secretary.

Surviving are her husband 53 years, Samuel Cerezo; son, Samuel R. Cerezo (Neslihan) of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Edward Gainey; sister, Evelyn Holland and Joyce Flowers; and 2 grandchildren, Seray Noel Cerezo and Samuel Altan Gabriel Cerezo.

She was predeceased by brother, Robert Gainey and David Gainey; and sisters, Dorothy Snead and Mavis Mann.
