Hilda Marie Woods Rose, born Mar. 9, 1928, in Camden-on-Gauley, WV, passed peacefully on Sept. 5, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Walter E. Woods and Sophia J. Powers Woods. She attended Glenville State College, Glenville, WV, until her marriage to the late Harold Lee Rose of Pittsburgh, PA.

Hilda Rose leaves behind her five children, Bruce Lee (MaryAnn), Douglas Michael (Janet), Karen Rose LaRoche (Thomas), Kimberly Ann (Kenneth), and Derek Brian, along with 11 grandchildren, Saxton Rose (Elizabeth), Charis Rose (Tucker), Weston Rose, Dug Rose, Jr. (Jamie), David Rose (Veronica), Judson Parrish (Amanda), Elizabeth Balazs (Ben), Katherine LaRoche, Allison Savage Font (Deek), Madeline Rose (Johnny) and Jackson Rose, in addition to 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and other family members.

Hilda was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother, Dana Woods and sister, Delta Mazzella. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Ruby Kennedy (Ron) of Deerpark, IL.

After raising five children, Hilda became a successful real estate agent and broker in Libertyville, IL, before retiring to Naples, FL. She lived in Pittsburgh & Grove City, PA, Gary, IN, Detroit, MI, Arlington Heights & Libertyville, IL, Daytona Beach, FL, and then moved to Europe for several years and traveled extensively. She was an avid golfer, with two documented holes in one and many championship titles.

A devoted wife, amazing mother, hostess extraordinaire, loving daughter, sister, aunt, grandma and great-grandma, she was always a loyal friend, and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for the loving and dedicated care of the entire staff of Morningside of Camden, the devoted caregivers of Nightingales of Camden and Ms. Marcey Mills. Their constant attention and tender treatment were a tremendous blessing to Hilda and her family. Memorials may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. Services are tentatively scheduled for Sept. 2021.
