1931

Ernest Billy Tuttle, Sr. was born March 16, 1931 in Welch, West Virginia, the son of Robert Tuttle and Emma Barnett Tuttle. 

1940 Census Information:

According to the United States Census recorded on April 25, 1940, Robert Tuttle (34) rented a home in McDowell county, West Virginia. Also in the home was his wife, Emma Tuttle (33), and their children; Mary Tuttle (16), Robert Tuttle (15), Elmer Tuttle (12), and Ernest Tuttle (9). Robert was reported to have been born in Kentucky and the other family members were born in West Virginia. It was reported that the family lived in a rural part of McDowell on April 1, 1935; Robert was a miner in a mine.

1950

On December 20, 1950 in McDowell County, West Virginia, Ernest Billy Tuttle and Virginia Gay Arnold were married.

1956

On July 28, 1956 in Mahoning, Ohio, Ernest Tuttle (25) of 657 Elm Street, Youngstown, Ohio, and Elinor E. Krantz (23) of 256 E Ravenwood Ave. Youngstown, Ohio were issued a marriage license. He was a mechanic and son of Robert Tuttle and Emma Barnett. She was the daughter of Merle Krantz and Verna Bartley. He was married once before, but was divorced from Virginia Tuttle on July 5, 1956 in Mahoning County, Ohio. Merle and Virginia Tuttle had a four year old son, Curtis Lee Tuttle.

1973

On October 13, 1973, Ernest Billy Tuttle and Donna Glinda Moore were married in Jackson, North Carolina.

2009

On March 19, 2009, Ernest Billy Tuttle was listed as the living father in the obituary of Curtis Lee Tuttle.

2020

ELGIN – Funeral service for Ernest Billy Tuttle, Sr., 89, will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior.

Mr. Tuttle passed away at home on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.  Born in Welch, W.V., he was the son of the late Robert Tuttle and Emma Barnett Tuttle.  He served in the United States Navy.  He was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Moore Tuttle; son, Ernest Billy Tuttle, Jr.; daughters, Barbara Smith, Kathleen Mullins, Anita McGrew and Renee Tuttle; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. 

He was predeceased by a son, Curtis Tuttle; and sister, Elmer Church.
