A funeral service for Col. (Ret.) Thomas Clyburn Shaylor, 90, of West Columbia, will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021, at River District Church (formerly First Baptist Church of West Columbia) in West Columbia. Pastor Seth Stoddard will officiate. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military rites at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be sent to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Donor Relations, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or River District Church, 400 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169.

Tom died on Friday, January 8, 2021. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late James William Shaylor and Alma Brown Shaylor.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Bizzarri Shaylor, of West Columbia; sister, Betty McCoy (Perry); daughters, Sandy Lincoln (Marion) of Bloomingdale, GA, and Michelle Sturkie of Elgin; grandchildren, Amy Taylor (Jason), Betsy Bridger (B.C.), Chad Lincoln (Erin), and Bryan Lincoln (Vicki); great-grandchildren, Shelley Bridger, Alyssa Lincoln, Riley Lincoln, Jordan Taylor, and Kendall Bridger; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother, J. D. Shaylor, and son, Scott Shaylor.
