James Albert “Red” Case Obituary

A funeral service to celebrate the life of James Albert “Red” Case, 99, of Camden, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Camden Ward. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1659 Kershaw Highway, Camden, SC. Memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Camden Ward, 34 Chestnut Ferry Road, Camden, SC.

Red died on Monday, January 11, 2021. Born in Darlington, he was the son of the late Janie Stokes Case Hough and William Alexander Case. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. Red was a former employee at the Hermitage Cotton Mill and former co-owner of Camden H&R Block and a lifetime member of The American Legion Post 17 and Camden Poets Society.

He is survived by his daughters, Candace Cosimato (Jeff Matthews) and Cynthia Case; grandchildren, Dana Cosimato (Joseph Kimball), Anthony Cosimato, Thiel Geddings (Lisa), Christopher Dabney (Jessica), Nathan Dabney; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Kimball, McKayla Cosimato, Marshall Geddings and Elijah Geddings.

In addition to his parents, Red was predeceased by his wife, Hattie Mae Proctor Case; daughter, Mary Case Dabney; sister, Creola Hasty; brothers, Louie Case, Dewey Case, Robert Case and Cecil Case.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
