Kimery Whitmore “Kim” Barfield

Graveside funeral services celebrating the life of Kimery Whitmore “Kim” Barfield, 74 of Camden, SC will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 15, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Camden, SC. Reverend John Hallman will officiate. The family is requesting attendees to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kim’s memory to Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Camden SC.

Kim died on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Ruby Eddings Barfield and George Whitmore Barfield. Kim was a 1964 graduate of Camden High School, attended the University of South Carolina, and retired with over 40 years of service with DuPont. He attended Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Camden. He was an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan. Prior to his failing eyesight, Kim loved fishing and playing golf. Most of all he enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Stoveken Barfield; daughters, Cathy Floyd (Jason) of Camden, and Susan Richardson (Jason) of Lamar; grandchildren, Shannon Ammons (McKenzie), Christopher Gambrell, Kallie Richardson, Grace Floyd, and Avery Whitmore Floyd; great-grandchild Wade Ammons; and a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, Kim was predeceased by his sister, Georgia Barfield Boykin.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
