A memorial service to celebrate the life of Herman Eldridge “Butch” Floyd, Jr., 61, of Lancaster, SC, will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Radiate Church, 105 Sparkleberry Crossing Road, Columbia, SC 29229. Pastor Brandon Goff will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Fire Fighters’ Association, 111 Westpark Blvd., Columbia, SC 29210.
Butch went to be with The Lord on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Born in Sumter SC, he was the son of Dottie Johnson Bolig of Fair Play, MO, and the late Herman Eldridge Floyd, Sr. Butch was a fire fighter, and taught at the fire academy. He was an avid musician.
In addition to his mother, Butch is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Kelly Weidl Floyd; step-father, Michael Bolig; children, Herman Eldridge “Butch” Floyd, III (Ashley) of Elgin, Christina Spires (Mark) of Elgin, Michael Floyd (Christy) of Elgin, and Heather Floyd of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Genna, Hayden, Bailey, Lana, Hannah, Layla, and Nora; sisters, Deidre Parker (Randy) of Easley, Norma Floyd of Alexandria, VA, Shannon Watson (Paul) of Stockton, MO; and brother, Charles Floyd of Easley.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
