LUGOFF – Funeral service with military honors for Eugene W. Rhodes, 91, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Centerville Cemetery, Ridgeway.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon International.

    Mr. Rhodes, husband of the late Naomi Stanley Rhodes, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021.  Born in Davy, W.V., he was the son of the late Weldon J. Rhodes and Dolleta Hendrick Rhodes.  He retired in 1972 from the United States Army as a Major with 24 years of service. He served in WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.  A the time of his retirement he was in the Special Forces.

    Surviving are his daughters, Arlene R. Jordan (Randy), Priscilla Rhodes Campbell and Jeanette Smith; sister, Jane Martin; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Jessica and Pamela; and 8 great-grandchildren. 

   He was predeceased by brothers, Wendel Wayne Rhodes, Lindell Wiley Rhodes, Nelson Rhodes and Jerry Rhodes; and sister, Susan Roepke.
