The Family will receive friends and family Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 4:30-6:00 PM for a Visitation at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden, SC.  Graveside services for Donald Eugene Goode, 84, will be held at a later date this summer at Quaker Cemetery.  Hospice Chaplain Michael Hillard will officiate.  Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at: act.alz.org or Grace Episcopal Church, 1315 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC.

Donald Eugene Goode died Thursday, March 25, 2021.  Born in Richmond, VA October 13, 1936, Donald was the son of the late Jesse Sycle Goode and Virginia Florence Spain.  He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.  Donald served in the United States Army from 1961-1967 and was a captain during the Vietnam Conflict earning a purple heart, as well as completing two tours of Vietnam. After his military service, Donald worked for many years at DuPont until retirement. Donald was a member of Grace Church.

Donald enjoyed The American Legion, carving decoys, exercising, sailing, camping, and time outdoors. Devoted husband and father, Don cared for his wife, Barbara, at home for many years.

Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara Neurohr Goode; daughter, Ashley Goode Culp (Kevin), of Camden; son, Brian Christopher Goode (Soyoung), of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Culp and Michael Gary Culp, III and cousin, Billie Goode, of Glen Allen, VA.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Kearse, Jennifer Carter, the CNA’s, nurses, and all the rest staff of the Karesh Wing, for providing excellent care and love, as well as to Compassionate Care Hospice for comfort and Pallative care during his final days.
