RIDGEWAY-Funeral service for Jonathan Garvin “Jon” Bruce, 57, will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Steve Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

    Mr. Bruce passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Born in Camden, he was a son of Robert Alexander Bruce and the late Emily Langley Bruce. Jon served in the U.S. Marine Corps and currently worked as a Lead airline mechanic for American Airlines. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, reading, working on projects, spending time with his family and traveling with his beloved wife.

    Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Gina Reynolds Bruce; sons, Jonathan Garvin Bruce II (Candace) of Elgin; Samuel Ryan Bruce (Heather) of Charleston; siblings, Cheryl Lee (Patrick) of Orangeburg, Robert “Phil” Bruce of Camden; and grandchildren, Xander and Parker Bruce. He was predeceased by his mother, and a sister, Sonya Kay.
