LUGOFF – Rita Frances Gainey Davis, 83,  passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021. Born in Bethune, she was the daughter of the late William Wade Gainey and Annabelle Cassady Gainey. She retired from Thomas E. (Ted) Davis, Attorney, after 38 years and was a member of Timrod Baptist Church.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Timrod Baptist Church.  Pastor Jeremy Ussery will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. 

    Family members include her son, Paul E. Davis, Jr. (Lisa); sister, Sarah G. McGirt (Jimmy) ; and grandsons, Brent and Matthew.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Leroy, R.C. and Bud Gainey; and two sisters, Sybil G. Rhodus and Doris G. Garman.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Timrod Baptist Church, 4227 Timrod Road, Bethune, S.C.  29009.
