Obituary of Nancy Louise Gleaton
MARTINEZ, GA – A graveside service to celebrate the life of Nancy Louise Ziemba Gleaton, 65, will be held Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.Father Stephen Lyness will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you tell your family members you love them each and every day.
Mrs. Gleaton passed away Monday, November 1, 2021. Born in Bryan, TX, she was the daughter of Maj.Alvin Frances Ziemba, USAF, and Marifred Lebhart Ziemba. Mrs. Gleaton received a BA degree in Information Technology, Multimedia, and Visual Communications in 2010 and a MA in Professional, Technical, Business, and Scientific Writing in 2011. She then received her Six Sigma Black Belt in 2012.She was employed by Club Car, Evans, GA, as the Training Certificate Program Manager. In her own time, Mrs. Gleaton was active for many years in the Civil Air Patrol, holding many positions in the SC Wing, including Wing Administrator, Finance Officer, Administrative Officer, Commander of the Legislative Squadron, and Director of the Civil Air Patrol’s Middle East Region Staff College. She was an avid genealogy researcher, spending countless hours documenting thousands of gravesites for well-known ancestry websites. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, and fishing with her husband and family. Mrs. Gleaton was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Thomson, GA.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Yarborough Monroe Gleaton II of Martinez, GA; children, Y.M. Gleaton III (Amber) of Columbia, SC and Katrina Hoyle of Martinez, GA; grandchildren, Micah Leigh Hoyle, William Foley Hoyle, and Jacob Anthony Carter; great-grandchildren, Isabella Marie Meuse and Raylen Leigh Meuse; and siblings Marianne Z. Doucette (Jim) of Columbia, SC and Richard D. Ziemba (Mary Ann) of Lakewood, CO. She was predeceased by sisters, Barbara Ziemba and Joanne Z. Fineberg.
