Harold Robert Fike of Lugoff, South Carolina | 1933 – 2021 | Obituary

A funeral service for Harold Robert Fike, 88, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church.  The family will receive friends Friday, November 5, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, Meals on Wheels, Food for the Soul, Christian Community Ministries, or Habitat for Humanity.

Harold died Wednesday, November 3, 2021.  He was the son of the late Raymond A. Fike and Edith Secrist Fike and step-mother Loretta H. Fike.  Harold was a graduate of University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Physics Engineering.  He retired from DuPont and co-owned, with a lifelong friend, Water Doctors of Inland SC and later helped his wife in her real estate career.  Harold was a volunteer life skills teacher at Lugoff Middle School.  He became a coach and volunteer for all the sports his children participated in.  He was a member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church for over 55 years and was very active in his church and served in many leadership roles. 

The core of his stewardship was humor, with his famous T-shirts and jokes.  Harold had a daily route starting at the “Fitness Zone,” serving in local charities, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Food for the Soul, and Meals on Wheels.  He was an American Red Cross donor and volunteer.

Surviving are his wife, Helen G. “Pat” Fike; daughters, Lynda M. Price, of Lugoff, Virginia L. “Lori” Hamer (Johnny), of Florence, Leigh Ann McNatt (Patrick), of Lexington; son, Jonathan D. Fike (Shannon), of Ridgeway; grandchildren, Lance Price, Tara Price, Allison Chandler, Kristina Chandler, Davis Leaphart, Nathan Leaphart, Wesley Leaphart, Haley Fike, Jonathan Fike, II, and Ava Cameron; great grandchildren, Chandler, Carson, Roxanne, Collins, Kash; and brother, Robert R. Fike (Sue), of Collegeville, PA.

In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by 2 sons.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
