Obituary of Calvin T. Bowen
CAMDEN – A funeral service for Calvin Theodore Bowen, Sr., 88, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
Mr. Bowen passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Leslie Bowen and Theresa Willis Bowen. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing and golf. Most of all, Mr. Bowen loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his sons, Calvin T. Bowen, Jr. and his wife, Hiroko and Ronnie Bowen and his wife, Fonda; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Alma T. Bowen; brother, Ronald Bowen; and sister, Ora Watts.
