There is a big void in the earth today! Betty Jane Davis Jordan passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2021 after a long illness. She fought the good fight of faith. Heaven gained a very special angel. Now all the weight and cares of this world will no longer affect her. She is resting in the loving arms of Jesus. She loved God dearly and said many times recently; that she was “right” with the Good Lord and she was ready when he called her home. She was a wonderful, loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and compassionate caregiver. All who knew her loved her.
Born in West Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Rosier Davis and Catherine Rabon Davis. Mrs. Jordan was a member of Calvary Springs Community Church, where she loved attending. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and playing blackjack.
Surviving are her daughters, JoAnne Marshall of West Columbia, Janet Austin and beloved son-in-law, Benny of West Columbia; grandchildren, Melissa McGee (Brian), Christy Wallace (Matt), Jack Jordan III (Joyce), Michael Brady (Mandy), Vicky Jordan, Benny Austin, Jr. (Meranda); 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a special niece, Cynthia Wilson; and special friends, Judy Gladden and Lucy Derrick. She was predeceased by a son, Jack Jordan, Jr.; a grandson, Neal Jordan; a son-in-law, Mike Marshall; brothers, Leroy Davis, Otto Davis, Preston Davis, Bruce Davis, Osborne Davis, and Charlie Davis; and sisters, Catherine Hammond, Florie Davis, Nita Davis, Sarah McDuffie, and Mary King.
