Ms. Rutherford was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon Roosevelt Rutherford and Sarah B. Rutherford; siblings, Roosevelt Rutherford, Jr and Sarah Lillian McLeod.

She is survived by her brother, Deacon Willie J. Rutherford of Cassatt, SC; sisters, Earline Frierson of Cassatt, SC, Dorothy Rutherford of Paterson, NJ, Martha Faye Rutherford of Brooklyn, NY, Joan (Leander) Dunham of Bethune, SC and Hattie (Clarence) Hampton of Camden, SC; uncle, James Williams of Camden, SC; aunt, Maggie Fowler of Cassatt, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish her memory.
