Obituary of Jimmie Monroe Hyman
CAMDEN- Jimmie Monroe Hyman, 82, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Born in Pamplico, he was a son of the late Ossie Monroe Hyman and Lula Brown Hyman. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of New Hope Baptist. Jimmie retired from SCE&G as a construction supervisor. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Meredith Ann Poston “Merrie” Hyman; sons, Michael Hyman (Kim) of Ridgeway, Todd Hyman of Lugoff; daughter, Martha Pullum of North Myrtle Beach; brother, James E. Hyman (Francis) of Batesburg; grandchildren, Kala, Ashley (Wesley), Katelyn, Allison (Tripp), Emily; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Lois Cox, Margaret Parham and Geneviea Gandy.
Services for Mr. Hyman will be held at a later date at Powers Funeral Home with burial and military honors to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
