Funeral services for Hebron Hudson Johnson, 91, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Antioch Baptist Church, 1875 Antioch Road, Camden, SC 29020. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Hebron H. Johnson died on February 13, 2022 at the Blake of Woodcreek Farms in Elgin, SC. He passed peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Bishopville and was the son of the late Nellie Mae Skinner and Murray Johnson. He served his country proudly for 20 years in the United States Navy and another 10 years Civil Service. He was a former post commander of VFW post 8990 in Kershaw, SC and served during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Altair.
Hebron is survived by his wife of 67 years, Catherine (Kitty) Smith Johnson; daughter, Kay Martin, of Lugoff, SC; sons, Richard Johnson (Anna), of Simpsonville, SC; William (Bill) Johnson, of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert Johnson, of Anderson, SC; Mike Johnson (Carrie), of Mt. Pleasant, SC and sister Joyce Foxworth of Lexington, SC. Hebron also has 9 grandchildren: Shaun, Clint, Andrew, Justin, Katie, Nicole, Kyle, Zach and Jennifer as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, Hebron was predeceased by a son, Charles L. Johnson; brothers, Welburn Johnson, Cecil Johnson and Calbert Johnson and sisters, Maenell Newman and Rosa Lee Caulder.
The family would like acknowledge to the Heart of Hospice staff for their continuous and compassionate support with special thanks to Chaplain Jimmy for his fellowship and dedication along with PA, Jen Sowers at The Blake for being a devoted and loving caregiver.
