Obituary of Tensye N. Smith

LITTLE RIVER-A funeral service for Tensye N. “Mop” Smith, 93, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with a private burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Eric Walter will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northeast Presbyterian Church, 601 Polo Road, Columbia, S.C. 29223.

    Mrs. Smith, wife of the late Walter Glenn “Jacque” Smith, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Born in Pilot Mountain, N.C., she was a daughter of the late James Edgar Needham and Lona Lee Needham. Mrs. Smith was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church.

    Surviving are her son, William Clay Young (Gina) of Little River; grandchildren, Bridges C. Young, Tyler Young, Beau Young; son-in-law, Timothy Joseph O’Connor; and a step-grandson, Josh Funderburk. She was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Young O’Connor; and a son, Charles Edgar Young.
