Mrs. Millie Maples Ward age 93 of Cassatt SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday Morning, March 27, 2022.
Mrs. Ward was born November 6, 1928 in Rock Hill, SC daughter of the late Rufus Byrum Maples and Gertrude Gallman Maples.She was the widow of Curtis Eugene Ward to whom she was married for 54 years.
Mrs. Ward was an avid quilter and member of Logan Lap Quilters for many years before moving to Cassatt and joined Quilters of Kershaw County. She loved making quilts and giving them away to those she loved.
She is survived by her sons William B. Ward of Cassatt SC, Curtis L. Ward (Eve) Blythewood SC, daughter Curtys W. Quesinberry (Danny) Columbia SC. Grandchildren William R. Ward (Melanie) Fredericksburg VA, Elizabeth Ward Kershaw SC, Frankilin Hagood (Missy) Blythewood SC, Tom Hagood (Shelia) Elizabthtown NC, Allen Hagood ( Brandy) Blythewood SC, Danielle Yarborough (Brent) Irmo SC, Marshall Quesinberry (Kimberly) New Bern NC, Brandon Ward and Benjamin Ward Cassatt SC. 15 great grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Brothers Frankilin Maples, Darryl Maples (Lorna Jean), sister Elizabeth McCarty (Byron) all from Lugoff SC, brother-in-law Loren Ivie Peachtree City GA and numerous of beloved nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband she is predeceased by son James C. Cowan Jr., daughter Betty Jean Hagood, brother Billie Maples, sisters Frances Grafton and Sylvia Ivie.
Services will be held Saturday, April 02, 2022, at 3 o’clock at Antioch Baptist Church, 1875 Antioch Road, Camden SC. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Antioch Baptist Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Antioch Baptist Church.
