Obituary of Dorothy May Hartman
COLUMBIA, SC- Dorothy May Hartman, 99, passed away on Sept 6, 2022. Born on Sept. 15, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Randolph and Emily Robinson Boyd. Mrs. Hartman, wife of the late Robert Hartman, was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA. She worked as a seamstress for the Department of Defense making clothes for Marines. She was an avid reader and enjoyed 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Robert Hartman Jr., of HI, Charlene Hartman of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Danya Chavi McKinney (Christopher Hope) of Camden, SC; sisters, Eleanor Hawkins and Dora Douglas both of Philadelphia; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 11 siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
