Obituary
A memorial service for Cordell Hull “Duke” Pittman, 88, of the DeKalb community, Camden, S.C., will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022, in Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church, 2814 Old Hickory Road, Lancaster, S.C. Pastor Paul E. Smith, Jr. will officiate.
The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
A private burial will be held later in DeKalb Baptist Church Cemetery, Camden, S.C. with military honors.
Mr. Pittman died, Thursday September 8, 2022, in Veteran Village, Florence, S.C. He was a son of the late Willis Orlando Pittman and Louisa Nancy Jane Westbrook Pittman. Mr. Pittman retired from the United States Air Force after obtaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. He later was an electrician. He enjoyed woodworking and going on beach trips.
He is survived by 3 children, Michael Pittman, Debra P. Alexander and Wendy (Kim) Sellers; 6 grandchildren, Christopher B. (Candace) Alexander, Daniel P. (Brittany) Alexander, Kelly E. (Michael) Todd, John A. (Serenity) Todd, Blair Cearley and Haley Cearley; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Florine “Dotsy” Brown and 3 brothers, Willis (Louise) Pittman, Grady (Phyllis) Pittman and James (Isabelle) Pittman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Railey Pittman; his son, Stacy Cearley, a grandson, Dillon Sellers and his sister, Thelma Gardner.
