OBITUARY

Nancy Vann Mack, 87, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away peacefully of natural causes on the morning of October 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Leola Roof Ivey and George William Ivey. She is survived by her son, Luther J. Vann, Jr. (Sandra) of Columbia, SC; her daughter, Lisa Vann Gusty of Fairview, Tennessee and grandchildren, Lauren Vann Brown of Elgin, SC (Chris Brown and her children, Ashlynn and Liam), Vann D. Gusty of Dickson, TN (Addie), Robbie Vann and Elizabeth Vann of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by her brother, George William Ivey, Jr. (Margie) and sisters, Mary Lutz (James), Hazel Age (Robert) and Nora Tanner (Cecil).

Nancy was a lifelong resident of Lexington, South Carolina where she lovingly raised her two children. She grew up in a tight knit family with all her sisters living close by and her brother oftentimes making a trip back home from Grafton, Virginia to visit.

Nancy was a long-time member of Lexington United Methodist Church, and she loved attending the church services there. The Lord’s work followed her through life, and she is now safely at home with the Lord, her mother and father.

Nancy loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved making hand crocheted afghans for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as tending her flowers and taking pictures of them and turning them into beautiful pieces of art that she oftentimes shared with family and friends.

The Lexington United Methodist Church will be celebrating All Saints Day on October 30, 2022. Friends that want to celebrate the life of Nancy may attend one of two services. There will be an 8:30 a.m. and an 11:00 a.m. service where she will be recognized and remembered. Nancy’s immediate family will remember their beloved sister, mother, grandmother in a small private service later that day.
